Your Teachers

Carney McRae:

My adventures in learning began when I was a child working at an Audubon Center. The outdoors became a place to discover, stimulate and challenge me. Singing and acting let my creativity shine. Teaching children of all ages at environmental camps and in college kept alive my passion for life-long learning. My 16 years working with 4-H clubs taught me the importance of creating small, safe, nurturing communities for children and having caring adults willing to support youth on their own learning adventures.

Deborah Miller:

Coming from a family of seven has given me many invaluable life skills. I have always challenged myself to new and different ways of accomplishing my goals. Education to me is a gift and a ladder that we climb to become successful in life as a person and a member of the community. My 16 years in 4-H gave me the oppotunity to work with young people in a variety of locations - in the kitchen, on the beach, in the barn and in the sewing room. My most recent accomplishment was graduating from college where I nurtured my learning style. This has made me more aware of the needs of other people around me. While in college I was a peer advisor and assisted students with academic problems. Through the process of teaching others, I find my own knowledge grows to a higher level.

As a team, we have worked together in the 4-H youth program for 14 years.
