The Come Spring School will weave agriculture and environmental studies throughout its activities. Because we live in a region rich in natural resources and where many people work off the land, it seems natural that this school emphasize these areas.

The Food, Land & People curriculum is the result of a ten-year national effort to make learning fun while covering the necessary academic areas. Some topics covered are: origin of foods, entomology, agriculture products and careers, and health and safety. Each topic area covers a wide age range, making this curriculum ideal for our multi-age classroom. This curriculum meets the standards of the Maine Learning Results.

We will be using reading and math curricula to support children’s learning in these areas.
